Falin of Scott Co. Va Cherokee lineage

I am looking for confirmation of Cherokee Lineage in the Falin Family. William Falin was Sarah "sally" Falins dad and she married David Ash. I have found a photo of her and trying to find out, I also have found some pics of her grand children espescially of my gg gma Sena Sanders and her brother Asa and they show stron native American features. Looking for any help in confirmating this lineage. Thank you

Martha Falin & unknown Hurd of Scott County Virginia & Hancock/Hawkins county Tennessee

Seeking information about Martha Falin who was born in Scott county Virginia around 1862. Her parents were Michael Falin (or Failen) and Elisabeth Head. The family lived in Hawkins county Tennessee in 1880. Martha had at least one daughter Vinettie, my great-grandmother, born in Tennessee about 1879. The death record for Vinettie lists father as unknown. The death record for Vinettie's daughter lists her mother as Vinettie Hurd, although we do not think she ever married the Hurd father. We're trying to find the unknown Hurd (could be Head, Herd, Heard) who may be the father of Martha's daughter Vinettie. Martha may have had another daughter, Mollie, who was born in Virginia in 1875.

Margaret Elizabeth Mcdavid born Mar 20, 1893 - died Dec 6 1968 was my mother's sister. Parents were Samuel and Sarah Mcdavid. Husband was Lilburn Neal (Lil) Falin (b Apr 1876 - d Nov 1935). Children - Edyth, Sam, Hegman, Warren, Jimmy, and Lillian.

Hello. My mother's family are Robinette, Chesser. In fact my great grandmother was named Mary Etta Robinette Chesser. Never heard a story about Hiram Falin. Could this Mary Etta be the same as my great grandmother. My grandmother (her daughter) was named Bessie. She married a Fugate, Any info would be appreciated.

I looked up the trees on ancestry.com and found Lorenzo listed under William arch Falin and Loura Kitts and Williams parents were Martin Falin and Julia ann Campbell. However, I looked on the 1900 census on ancestry and could not find him listed on there under any William ARch Falin.
under any spelling, he had a sister named Minnie but could not find her under there either. William later moved to McMinn co. Tn and died there in 1949. Sorry I could not find more to help.

I remember that my father (Oliver Jackson Falin) had a brother (his oldest) living in Louisville. I believe that they sometimes conversed, at least by mail. He lived a long life and did have a 75th wedding anniversary, as I recall.
I do not remember any mention of cousins in the Louisville area, but do believe that I do have some whom I never met.

The Falin's are originally from Tipperary Ireland. Thomas is my grea great grandfather, Hayburn Falin, his son was my great grandfather. He was married to Edna Earl Davis, and some of their children was Palmer, Carrie, John, Bascomb and Gertrude....Becky Falin's page gives the best information about the lineage. Bascomb was my grandfather, and Becky is a cousin...Google is also great, lot's of census reports, Civil War records....
We are descendant's of an amazing family of pioneers. Having first migrated to New York, we expanded to the South, then to the West where they became homesteader's.
They have fought in every war, and very much an important part of our early settlers...

We are a sturdy breed of Fighting Irish, and give God credit for guiding us...

I decided to get back into my roots project that I had worked on for ten years back in the ninetys, and I noticed your old mesage when I was reviewing some Scott Co. info. Did anyone give you the information? Maw's parents were Charles Vicars and Manda Page. Vicars were from Russle Co. and the pages were from Scott. I worked with a Rebecca Falin that set up the Falin Ged file that is on the Scott County web site. I was able to find out much on Maw's father' s family.Plenty of info about the Falins. I have submitted some articles on them to Wise Co. and Scott Co. I have some that I haven't completed; Falins in the Civil War, Falins of Wise Co., Pardee coal miners; etc. I'll be coming back in June next year for my high school reunion. I don't know if your Hiram Falin is the same Hiram Falin that murdered Leander Blonsful Chesser in Big Stone Gap, VA in 1921, but a Hiram Falin cut the throat of my great, great uncle who left behind a wife (Mary Etta Robinette Chesser) to raise several children on her own!

There is a July 8, 1966 story about his 96th birthday in The Kingsport Times newspaper. His parents are listed as Bill & Julie Falin of Hawkins County. I only need to know about his daughter, Rosa, and if she had any children. She married Alex Collier.

One of the Colliers that I'm researching married a Rosa Ellen Falin, daughter of Hirma Falin and Louemma UNKNOWN. This marriage took place in Wise, VA in 1922. Hiram Falin appears to be the same one you're looking for. He died in Wise Co., VA on 01 Nov 1967. I'm not interested in him, only interested in his daughter that married into my extended family. I did look for his obit up there once, hoping to learn what became of Alex Collier and Rosa, but didn't find an obit. I didn't look in the Big Stone Gap newspaper though....might be in it.

I have an Elizabeth Louise Falin from Scotland, born 1864. She married Francis Patrick Kane and both immigrated to the US around 1888. Francis worked for the railroad in Idaho, Washington and Oregon. They settled in Oregon. Elizabeth Falin took the last name McConville, her mother's maiden name because her grandparents raised her, after the father's and mother's early death. Her mother was Mary McConville and her father was Robert Falin. Any insights into this family would be appreciated.

There are a number of Falins in TN and IN as well as many other states. Most I have found were of families that began in the Clinchport-Scott Co. VA area. I am looking for Estella Falin, b. 1894, who m. Bird Evans in Scott Co., VA, about 1909. They had four children. Estella left Bird who was gone a lot due to work. She ran off with someone else. No one in the Evans family knows what happened to her. Her children were taken to an orphanage in Richmond, Virginia. Don't know if it was the capital or Richmond in Wise Co. The youngest was taken from the orphanage by his father and turned over to an Evans family member. Need help in finding out what happened to Estella. Her father, Andrew J. Falin m. to Mary Horton, and her husband were both working on the railroad. A granddaughter has tried for years to find Estella.
