I have a picture of Margarette Fairbairn taken about 1914. She is with my grandmother, Mildred Stutz. I would love to find someone from the Fairbairn family to share the picture with. Margarette would have been born about 1898 to Thomas and lillian. Her siblings were Pearl, Elmer, Esther, Edward, Richard, James, May, John and Robert.

Hi,
you don't indicate what country this is in, but I have noted an 1898 marriage in St Catherines, Lincoln Co, Ontario between a Thomas FAIRBURN and Lillian O WILSON.
The 1911 census shows them living in St Catherines, Lincoln Co, Ontario but shows their dtr as born 1899 USA, emigrating 1907.
The name of this dtr looks more like Edna or Jane to me though, than Margarette.
Thomas appears to belong to the Yorkshire line of FAIRBURNs, his parents being John Thomas FAIRBURN and Margaret Letitia Josephine MEAGHER (marr. 1874 Welland Co, Ontario).

Lorna

Lorna,

I am not sure where to contact you about this, so I'm taking up space and doing it here.

I was looking at my neglected tree and noticed you had edited a 1910 federal census record for Joan Fairburn (Fairbairn), stating that William Lampson was deceased and that she was his widow.

She was my great-great grandmother (her daughter Phyllis Lampson was the mother of Margaret Wasmund, who was the mother of PeggyAnn Fish, my mother). I have a quilt that Phyllis completed at 96, in 1956, I believe.

I know from my mother that there were a group of relatives who lived in Quebec, I believe after living in Iowa (Onion Grove)and before moving to Detroit.

Do you have any info about this branch of the family other than the census correction?

I hope I answered you at the time you wrote this, but if not this picture was taken in Joliet IL USA. I'd still love to find someone from Margarets family to pass it on to. vickie

Hi Bethany, do you have information on William G Fairbairn, brother of Joan (Lamson), Agnes (Keppler), Amelia (Evans), and James? Also, any information on Elizabeth O'Connell, wife of James Fairbairn, and father of the children above would be greatly appreciated. bschmitt@u.washington.edu
