Gypsy. Prisoner in Jedburgh Tolbooth. Banished at Jedburgh, 30 November 1714. Transported via Glasgow on a Greenock ship, master James Watson, by merchants Robert Buntine of Airdoch, James Lees and Charles Crawford to Virginia, 1 January 1715.

I am not related to this family, I am just passing on this information, which comes from a book titled " Scots Banished to the American Plantations" 1650-1775 by David Dobson. Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. 1983. pg. 45.

Just wondering, is there any other mentions of other Romanies "Gypsies" having been transported in that book? If yes i'd love to get that information because that is exactly what I am researching!

I am one of those British Romanichals "Gypsy" descendants who's immigrant was one of those transported during that same era.
