Good day:
Peter Ezekiel, whose original name was Philip emigrated to Newfoundland sometime in the late 1700s with his family. He came from Brixham England but I think he was born in Exeter England about 1750. He married Ann Parkinson in 1783 in Brixham. Peter was baptised (in the Anglican church and at that time changed his name from Philip to Peter) as an adult in July 1783 and married soon after. He appears to have been Jewish prior to his baptism. I have a reference to Peter's father being Abraham Ezekiel, a prominent Jew of Exeter however am awaiting confirmation. If indeed it is Abraham then I would also have a list of his siblings. Ann's parents were Thomas Parkinson and Dorcas Sharpham. I have a bit more info. My interest is that my grandmother was Johanna Ezekiel and one of my great-grandfather's was a Patrick Ezekiel.
