Hello,

Looking for any information on my g-grandfather James A Ezechiel, born 1851 in Liverpool, husband of Scholastica (born 1844) from Surah, India. He was a Lt Col in the British Army in India and lived in Wandsworth, London.

Also his children Percy (born 1875), Victor (1884), Gertrude (1877) and Mary (1881) (and possibly Charlie and Frederick as well).

Any leads would be very helpful!

Hi. I guess we're distant cousins as James is my G grandfather too. Percy was the guy who set up the currency of Tanzania or somewhere in Africa - vague I know but I've got the info somewhere. V, G, P and M were my dad's uncles and aunts. He was originally Ezechiel but changed his name to Reynolds. His brother Jim remained Ezechiel, and tried hard to find his way back beyond 'the colonel' as he's always called, but drew blanks. Good luck
Tish

Hi!

Percy Ezechiel's dates: 1875-1950 (source: http://library-2.lse.ac.uk/archives/handlists/ColonialRes/m....

Photo dated 1890 can be seen at Illustrated London News: http://www.ilnprints.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=6_32&p.... It says that, aged 15, he had gained a B.A. from Bombay University.

Census 1891: Can be seen as a guest in a Sunbury house, aged 15. With him is Joseph A Ezechiel, aged 18. Birthplaces stated as Poonah.

Good luck with the research!

Hi Peter,
We corresponded several years ago - I'm a grandson of Victor Ezechiel. At the time you sent me the family tree and offered to send some scanned photos as well. My mother, Elizabeth Travis (nee Ezechiel, but the family changed their name to Falconer, as I believe you know) has been bothering me ever since (and most recently a week ago) for a copy of the tree. I've changed computers a couple of times since then and have lost it... would be most grateful for another copy (and the photos too!). I know that my mother had identified some possible errors when I talked to her about your family tree back in 2003 or 4, and I think she'd be very interested to check it over and contribute her knowledge. I'm also rekindling my interest in genealogy - have just bought "Family tree maker" and a subscription to ancestry.co.uk and have started tracing the other side of my family.
Hope to hear from you!
Chris (chris.travis@hotmail.com)

P.S. you probably know this, but in your original 2003 post you were missing the oldest child - Louis, and another -Edith (current generation of that family is Risson). Also, Charlie married Portia (Pat) Hayes-Sadler... and, well, I have several other things, but from what I recall you had all this covered in the tree you sent me.
PPS - I was interested to see the 2006 response you had to this thread... I remember meeting Tish as a kid back in the early(?) 1970's.
