Some members of my Ezard family settled in New York State, their Grandparent's were born in Yorkshire, England. One of the men Edward Ezard spoke French. Many people in the Cornwall area of Ontario speak French. Edward was born in York County, Ontario and spent most of his youth in Stormont County, Ontario. Howard is a family name but I have no idea at this point if your Howard is one of my line.

Yes, the family of Edward Ezard and Adeline Taggart is the family you are looking for.
Howard was born 13 October 1901. Probably born in or near Caledonia, NY
Adeline was the daughter of William Taggart and Mary Kennison. Edward and his older brother worked for Adeline's father William Taggart, her Mother was Margaret Kennison. the family knows that Howard moved to Washington State and very little more. Edward's older brother George married Adeline's sister and they returned to Canada and are buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Osnabruck, Stormont County. Ontario, Canada
The children of Edward and Adeline. William J., 17 Febraury 1892, Mark 1894, Donald David 1897, Vera May 1899, Irving 6 Jan. 1904, Thomas 8 November 1905, Edward 10 March 1909, Female 23 April 1907, Harry 20 May 1910, James Arthur June 17 1896. Edward the father of these children was a farmer. I have never heard of a preacher in this family. Adeline did not approve of Edward speaking French and a story is told about a train load of troops passing through Caledonia during the first WW. Everyone went down to the station and it turned out there were French troops aboard and none of the officials could speak French so they called out into the crownd, can anyone speak French and Edward stepped up said I can. happy Hunting

Hi, I'm sorry it took me so long to find this again. Yes everything you say is correct. I have since found cousin Don Ezard (we're Fbook pals now) he sent me alot of family tree info so did my other cousin Fred who is the son of Grandma Ezards sister. Everything stops at William Taggart and Adeline Kennision. It also stops at john Ezard and Hannah Grange. Is anything known about anybody earlier? Or at least william and Adelines DOB, DOD, Birthplace etc? Thank you so much. I was pretty much raised by Howard Ezard and his wife. My favorite people.

A great deal is known of John Ezard's ancesters. As far as Hannah I have not done any research for a while on that line. I got bogged down with Mathius Grange, too many of them. I do have some information on William taggart, I will have a look for it. Take care, Merle

I have sent you three family sheets but if you may not get them if you have changed your email address. The John Ezard one was sent to me by Mrs. Neville of Cornwall, Ontario. John Ezard, Sarah Grandfather was not born in Hull, he was born on the Sykes esatate at Sledmere. He married Hannah Grange in Sculcoates, Hull now called Kingston on Hull? Also John and Hannah first settled in Toronto Twp., Peel County with his cousin George Ezard and his wife Mary Standy. their first born in Canada child confirms her birthplace on her marriage registration. Ann married in Vaughan, the family was living in Vaughan by the 1861 census. Happy Hunting.
