GAHANNA, Ohio: Barbara Ann Eyster (Harding), 75, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in her home in Gahanna, Ohio.

She was born in Amity, Ohio (Knox County) on September 24, 1938.

A retired substitute school teacher, she graduated from Amity High School and Kent State University.
She married Ralf Jerold Eyster of Fredericktown, Ohio in 1963.

She taught elementary school in Columbus, Ohio and Fredericktown before settling in Lexington, Ohio, where she spent most of her adult life and raised her family.

In Lexington, she was an active member of the United Methodist Church of the Cross, her garden club, bridge group and other activities.
She was most recently an active member of the Church of the Messiah hand bell choir in Westerville and the Silver Sneakers exercise group in Gahanna, OH.
Barbara enjoyed travel, playing piano, reading, hand bells, and spending time with friends and family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Denzal and Mary (James) Harding and her sister, Sharon Banning.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Ralf; daughters, Tracy Eyster and Kelly Jo (Michael) Marks; grandsons, Elliot, Henry and Samuel Marks; sisters, Judy Penick and Kathleen Bryan; nieces, nephews and extended family.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna, where the Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 16.
Interment at Mifflin Township Cemetery.
