Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 17, at Our Lady of Angels Church at 10 a.m.

EYERMAN EDWARD ANTHONY EYERMAN JR., gently passed over to the Lord on September 10, 2013 just 9 days after his 88th birthday.
His last days were shared with his loving wife of 66 years and his family.
During his final days Edward talked of the light. He saw his father, Edward Anthony Eyerman Sr. and his mother Anna Julia (nee Majoras (Meyers).
Edward laughed with his friend Red, his brother George Frederick and his Sisters Mary (Bill) Page, Louise (Charles) Jeretic and Jeannette Butler, his brother in laws, John (Shirley) Docherty, William (Margaret) Docherty and sisters-in-law Margaret (William) Rose, Jane (George) Spear, all deceased. He went peacefully.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio Edward graduated from his beloved St. Ignatius High School then enlisted in the United States Navy where he received two Bronze Star Medals with Valor along with thirteen (13) other medals including Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, (with three attached bronze stars) and both the Navy and Marine Corp good conduct medals, as well as, a Combat Medical Badge.
He earned commendations from General Walter Krueger, US Army; Douglas MacArthur, US Army; Commander-in-Chief, US Pacific Fleet and Pacific Ocean Areas C. W. Nimitz; and General L.G. Merritt, Commanding General.
Edward started his naval service at the Great Lakes Naval Base and went on to attend studies for the Armed Services Medical Corp.
Additionally, he received attended basic training and medical training at Camp Lejeune Marine Corp Base.
He attended three other Naval and Marine Corp bases before being deployed from Miramar Naval Aviation Base, San Diego as a member of the United States Navy Hospital Corps, attached to Marine Scout Bombing Squadron 133, Marine Aircraft Group 24, First marine Aircraft Wing. Edward helped wounded soldiers during operations in Bougainville, Australian Mandated Island, Bismarck Archipelago, the invasion and offense of Lingayen, Luzon, the Bataan Peninsula, and Corregidor Island, Philippine Islands and countless other conflicts throughout the Pacific Island including Typhoon Agnes which struck the Pacific fleet near Hawaii causing deaths and injuries to the fleets service men and women.
After returning from war, Edward attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland before marrying "Bride", as he liked to call her, of 66 years Veronica Theresa (Docherty).
He is survived by his wife and children Edward III (Susan), Donald Sr. (Susan) of San Antonio, TX; Carol Lynn Kerrigan (Patrick); Linda Ridenour (James) of Stow, Ohio; grandchildren: Donald Jr., Steven (Micki Amato), E. Jeffrey (Tina), Karrie Croft (Rory), Rebecca Yeager (Ronald) of Mont Alto, PA, Christopher (Tona), Katie Howard (Russell), Theresa McClellan (Matthew) of San Diego, CA, Matthew Kerrigan of Clifton, NJ, Anna Christie; Mary Wish (Joseph), Great-grandchildren: Connor, Anthony, Kirsten, Madelyn, Samantha, Jeffrey, Riley, Jeremy, Joshua, Jacob, Bennett, Benjamin, Addison, Zachery, Alexis, Katelynne; his beloved Brother John (Rosemary) and his treasured Sisters, Amy Teresa; Sister-in-law Patricia (Pete) Ritter, multiple nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as, friends and their families.

Calling hours for Edward Anthony Eyerman Jr. at DONLON FUNERAL HOME, 15408 TRISKETT AVENUE, at Lorain Avenue, are Saturday 6-8, Sunday 3-8pm.
Funeral to be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 3644 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland, Ohio on Monday at 10:00am.
Burial to be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
