Thanks That makes sense with the will abstract. A couple of years ago I wrote Lancaster Historical Society to get John "Hans" Eyer's will but all they could find was the estate record. I only have the abstracts of estate distribution and the will. Evidently Catherine and her two children must have been living with John Eyer since 1768 because in 1772 the Orphans Court orders the children's guardian to pay John Oyet for maintaining the children over a four year time period. I am assuming that the John Eyer in the 1880 US census for Lebanon Twp., Dauphin Co. PA is the son you mentioned.
