Eichhorn in eastern Iowa descend from those in Reilingen, Baden, Germany who went to Denmark in 1761 to farm on the sandy, marshy soil. They lived between Husum and Schleswig in Schleswig-Holstein (now). There is still an Eichhorn in Reilingen.
