Deckers in Livingston Manor, Sullivan County, NY
I am looking for information on Broer Janse(n) Decker born 1660 in Kingston, NY and died 1772 in Livingston Manor, NY. He married Maria Parker had one child, and remarried to Cornelia Tappen and had 5 more children. All this was in Kingston, NY. His grandchildren were all born in Livingston Manor most with same surname. Also the name Mc Lean stems off the Decker branch. Interested in finding information from churches, town records, and burial places. Anyone with information please contact me. Thank You

Re: Deckers in Livingston Manor, Sullivan County, NY
1772 is a bit on the early side for an Anglo-American to be in Livingston Manor...not impossible mind you...but a bit early. If you have had no luck, you might want to check the Livingston Manor in Columbia County, NY (I know it sounds a bit silly, but there are actually two towns called Livingston Manor in the state of NY!?)
Good luck.
PS. John N. Tappen was my great grandfather. He was born October 18, 1753 in Dutchess County, NY. In 1799 he moved to Sullivan County, NY (town of Fallsburgh), where he died March 1846.

Amanda, You might Google Livingston Manor for some general info about the place; there is an LM website maintained by Fred Decker and contact information. He is writing a history of Livingston Manor and Willowemoc, where many of the Decker's lived. The Deckers originally settled in the Neversink area in the later 1700's, early 1800's and some offspring found their way up to the LM, Willowemoc area. I also have a Decker dilemma that I need to solve which probably will require a visit.
