My gggfather, James Sawyer, married Ann Ey, daughter of John Christian Ey, at St Margaret, Westminster (London, England) on 17th November 1839. Can anyone shed light on this family? Both parties listed their address as 3 Pool Place, Westminster and J.C. was a mariner.

Obviously it is a long time since the orignal query but still..

My great grandmother was an Ey (Amy Emmeline)

Your info re the marriage certificate was useful since it seems to clear up confusion I had, thinking Ann Ey was sister of Amos (Amas) Ey. Amos' 1860 marriage certificate states his father (John Christian Ey) to be a tailor. The family has a strong association with the Marylebone/Westminster area.
If anyone know if Ann and Amos were related it would be helpful

I don't have any info on this but by tracing my family back I have found a link to this family and to John Christian Ey. Its not a name that has passed down through the family but if you have anymore info that could help I would be grateful.
