Death of Mrs. E. O. McCormick.
After an illness of many weeks, consumption being the dreaded complaint, Mrs. Ernest O. McCormick, (Stella Ewry) died last night at 9 o'clock.
Her death occurred in the family residence, Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, and has been expected for weeks.
Her friend a home did not wait more anxiously for news as to her condition that did the large number in Lafayette.
Inquiries were made daily, and the slow but certain ending of the beautiful life was looked for here with almost as much regret and sadness as it was in her own home.
Mrs. McCormick was a woman loved by all who knew her.
Sweet, gentle and tender, she make a model wife, a delightful friend and death thought it was known to be assure, could not have seized a victim more universally beloved in her old home, by her old friends that it has in this case.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ewry and was born in this city in 1857, and was married 10 years ago to Earnest O. McCormick, now passenger traffic manager of the Big Four railway.
To the husband the blow is a terrible one.
He was perfectly devoted to her and to their child Lousie.
Mr. and Mrs. McCormick were married at the bride's home in West Lafayette, by the Rev. Dr. Dickinson, and if possible he will be secured to conduct the funeral services.
Immediately after their marriage they went to Chicago to live, taking up their residence in Cincinnati about five years ago.
One sister, Mrs. Will Terry of Chicago, and her parents survive Mrs. McCormick.
Two brothers, John J. and Harry have ben dead for several years.
The funeral will occur here Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Since the above was in type, the following announcement has been authorized:
The remains will arrive from Cincinnati early of Friday morning.
Funeral services will be at the residence of J. S. Ewry No. 88 South Third street at 2 P.M., conducted by Rever. Wm. C. Dickerson.
The pallbearers will be selected from relatives.

The remains of Mrs. E.O. McCormick, wife of the passenger traffic manager of the Big Four route, when died at their residence in this city last night, of quick consumption, will be take by special train to-night to Lafayette, Indiana, the home of her parents, where the funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. on tomorrow.
A daughter, age six years, is left with the bereaved father.
Many messages of condolence from Mr. McCormick's wife circle of friends have been received.
