Hi. I don't know if anyone can help me. I'm new to Ancestry and am REALLY struggling to track down anything to do with my grandfather - Quinton Findlay Ewart. All I know about him is that he died in 1964. Have no relatives on that side I can ask unfortunately.....

Hi Kirsty Don't Panic. A couple of things you need before you start which will help. If you know where he was living when he died, that is where his death would have been registered and a death certificate will provide you with more information ie Date of Birth. You do have to pay for it but it's not too much. If that's not helping, any idea what age he was when he died, could he have been involved with ww2, in which case there are also free sites you could check for a military record, which could give date of birth. If not just keep plugging away, even google will sometimes surprise you, but an approx. year and location will help narrow things down a bit.
Good luck. Ps, if it turns out that he came from London, give me another shout.
Helen
