Looking for any information on David B. Ewan who was born in NJ around 1829. He married Hettie J. Sweeden in 1880 and had at least two children Carrie L. (b. 1881) and David J. (b. 1886 - d. 1890). 1870 Census has a David B. Ewan living with father (?) David A. (b. 1791) and mother (?) Rachel (b. 1797). Thanks.

Just an update to the previous post.
David B. Ewan was 50 years old when he married 23 year old Hettie J. Sweeten (or Sweeden)on May 29, 1879 in Camden, NJ. His parents are David Ewan and Rachel Bozarth. Hettie's parents are Bishop Sweeden and Mary Ann Peacock. Any further info folks may have is greatly appreciated. I will keep digging as well.

Hi Chris,
The David B. Ewan (b. 1829) in my post is actually a different person than the David Ewan (b. 1844) of Burlington County. Though I am related to both through my grandmother. I am the 3-great grandnephew of David and Abigail (Shinn) Ewan of Burlington Cty. and the 3rd great grandson of David B. Ewan of Camden Cty. I have wondered whether the two families do connect at some point further back. I see you go back a bit further in your info on the Burlington Ewan's (I only have up to Job and Mary Parker Ewan).

The Camden Cty. David Ewan's parents were David A. Ewan (b. 1791) and Rachel Bozarth (b. 1797). I just recently made this connection and so have not done much research to go back further.

I am also related to both through my grandmother.

David and Abilgail (Shinn) Ewan: Great Grand Uncle
Buried in the Woodlane Cemetery, Mt. Holly.

Job and Mary (Parker) Ewan: 2nd Great Grandfather
What is Job's kinship to you?

David a. and Rachel (Bozarth) Ewan: 4th Great Grand Uncle.

It looks like we are related.

Talk soon.

Hi Chris,
I have no direct relationship to Job and Mary Parker Ewan. I connect in with this Ewan branch through the marriage of David and Abigail Shinn Ewan. Abigail's brother, Charles Earl Shinn is my 3-great grandfather. And then interestingly enough his son, Robert Kimble Shinn (my 2-great grandfather) married Carrie L. Ewan the daughter of David B. and Hettie (Sweeden) Ewan. So that is why my connection to David A. and Rachel Bozarth is more direct.

Have you found a connection between these two Ewan lines i.e. Job & Mary Ewan and David A. and Rachel Ewan? Is it possible they are brothers? I would be interested in what you have in this regard. How do you connect in with David A. and Rachel Ewan?

You can email me at revrock@twcny.rr.com

Thanks,
Steve
