EVELAND's tracing origins through Ontario?

Hello,

I'm mainly posting this in hopes that some descendent might be able to shed some more light on the American Revolution service of the Frederick EVELAND born 1752/53 that married Elizabeth (WOOLEVER) and settled in Ontario, eventually passing away in 1841 (He is burried in Mountain Presbyterian Cemetery, Clinton, Lincoln County, Ontario)...it appears he may have also spent time in Charlotteville, Norfolk, ON, and Yarmouth, Elgin, ON.

In the will of his grandson William Lowrance EVELAND, he states, "I remember my father telling me many stories about the part which my grandfather Frederick Eveland had taken in the American Revolutionary War".

Another mention: An account of the life of one of his grandsons (Andrus) that was written in 1899 and based on a detailed interview of the grandson, indicated that his grandfather "fought under Washington in the War of the Rebellion."

I'm hoping that since all EVELAND's from Ontario seem to trace their roots through this Frederick, that maybe some of these Revolutionary War stories were passed down to descendants. We believe we know which militia unit Frederick served in, and his rank, but the mention of the "many stories" has me hoping these may have been passed on.

Thanks!

Scott
