EVAs in the 1800s: Sheba Reed Eva and Josiah Eva

Surnames: EVA
I'm researching a particular branch of the EVA family (primarily based in Cornwall), and it seems that two brothers Sheba Reed EVA (b1862, Wendron, Cornwall) and Josiah Eva (b1850, Wendron, Cornwall) immigrated to the New England states around 1883 and 1877 respectively.
Sheba is mentioned in the "History of North Washington 1904" but that is about all the information I have after the brothers left England.

I'd really appreciate any help locating information on these two brothers, and will gladly share my research.

In particular, if anyone has had recent contact with Marilyn Eva I'd dearly like her contact details.
Her research will be invaluable!

Hello there,
I have just found info that my grandfather was Cecil John Eva born in Rhodesia 17.4.1897 and died in South Africa in Kowie Port Elizabeth 7.7.1942. His family originated from Cornwall. My grandmother was Winifred Emily Eva and died in Rhodesia. I wonder if you may have any information on the family who must have left Cornwall in the 1800's to settle in the then Federation of Nyasaland and Rhodesia?

Hi there Sharon,

I'm also a South African (live in Jo'burg). I'm afraid no match in my records for Cecil or Winifred - Eva was a common name in Cornwall and the Cornish miners (in particular) were well sought in southern Africa at the turn of the 20th century.

Good luck with your research.

Craig

Hello, I have information on a Josiah Eva who went to Australia, not the U.S. Could this be a possibility?

I also found information on a Josiah, born 1849 that went to MA and married a Susan Medlyn. Maybe this is your Josiah? Both Josiah's I've mentioned are part of the same family tree which I am also part of.
