The following note is written in pen, the ink faded and partly stained so that it is in places almost illegible, on the last page of Malachi in a family Bible printed in Edinburgh in 1787:
"Samuel Uerr landed in New York the __ of Jouly [?] 1800"

On the blank page facing the first page of Matthew is the following:
"John was born in June 22 Day 1788
James was born in October 2 day 1795
Janet Velson was in Jun 8 Day 1798 [or 1793]
Ann was born in Aguest Day 1799

On the New Testament flyleaf of that old Bible someone wrote: "James marry 1818"
