I'm researching the connection of Henry Pletcher's wife Mary "Polly" Yetzey/Utsey (1812-1865) to the Eutsey family of Fayette County. In 1830 Henry's parents, David Yoder Pletcher and Catherine Kent, appear on the census living next door to Christian Youtsey. In 1820 they had been living in Donegal, Westmoreland, PA. By 1840 census records show Henry Pletcher (30-39, now married with children) living near brother John Pletcher (20-29 m. Hannah Huffvine, Henry's parents living in his brother's household), Jacob Youtsey (30-39), John Youtsey (40-49), and David Youtsey (either 20-29 if the older man in household is father Christian or 70-79). Looking at the Youtsey/Eutsey family it seems likely that Mary "Polly" Yetzey/Utsey is related. Henry and Mary married about 1833 (probably when she turned 21).
In 1830 census for Saltlick Twp, Fayette Co., PA, there are 2 Youtsey families living next to David Plecher (misspelling of Pletcher).
Christian Youtsey - head
2 male 20-29 Jacob and David?
1 male 60-69 Christian Eutsey
1 female 15-19 (could this be the Mary who married Henry Pletcher?)
1 female 50-59 Mary Freymeyer Eutsey
John Youtsey - head
1 male<5
1 male 20-29 John, son of Christian?
1 male 60-69 Father-in-law?
1 female <5
1 female 15-19 wife?
Does anyone have a listing of children of Christain Eutsey and Mary Freymeyer? Does it include Mary "Polly" or an unknown daughter who could possibly be her? Or does anyone know where Mary "Polly" Yetzey/Utsey/Eutsey fits into the Eutsey family?
