Hope you're willing to sort thru this and do further research. I was not able to PROVE some of the oral family history concerning her.
Elizabeth ("Lizzie") M. Eunice
DOB (listed on her headstone): 9/5/1899
Her DOB is suspect... or, maybe just speculative, based on the various ages reported in actual census records.
1900 - 4
1910 - 12
1920 -21
1930 - 33
1940 - 40
DOD (listed on her headstone): 7/11/1982
Marriage info:
1) Unknown Johnson - supposedly married abt. 1915, however no marriage record was found. It should be noted she appears as a "widow" on the 1920 (Feb.) census, but she and her daughter were listed with the Eunice surname.
2) Van McMillan - November 5, 1920 (Source unknown)
Two children born
3) Ernest L. Rogers - no marriage record found, but it must have been after the 1930 (April) census, because in that census she is listed as Lizzie McMillan, a "servant" (along with two McMillan children who were listed as boarders), living with the "widower", Ernest Rogers. They appear to be married by the 1940 census.
4) Unknown Whitfield - no marriage record found, but it would have been after Oct. 1962 (Ernest's death)
She is shares a headstone with Ernest Rogers at Fellowship Baptist Church cemetery in Cook Co., GA. While there is no mention of the Whitfield name on her headstone, I did find a SSDI record for her with the Whitfield surname...
Elizabeth Whitfield
DOB: 9/5/1897 (I believe 1897 to be her true yob!)
DOD: July 1982
Last benefit paid to her at Colquitt Co., GA
For more on the Eunice/Nunez line, you might check out 'Descendants of Dr. Samuel Nunez', a myfamily.com site.
I posted a photo of Lizzie & Ernest there. You can also check-out David Trantham's ancestry.com tree, as he may have better sources than I do. There may be others, but best I can recall most of the Eunice trees are regrettably, unsourced.
