Yolo County Boy Is to Be Buried Sunday With Military Honors

Percy C. Eugene, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Eugene, of Washington, Yolo county, who died at Camp Mills, New York, of tuberculosis, is highly commended by his commanding officer in a letter received by the mother of the boy. The letter was received Friday.

The commanding officer, J.A. Rodrick, writes that Private Eugene was an excellent soldier, who was universally liked by his officers and fellow soldiers, and his untimely death is a genuine source of sorrow to all.

Percy C. Eugene enlisted March 11, 1918. He was sent to Kelly Field, where he helped assemble Liberty motors. He was in training in the aeroplane mechanical department before he was taken ill in New York, where he was waiting to sail for overseas.

The funeral of Percy Eugene will be conducted with military ceremony, an escort from Mather Field attending the body to the grave. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the funeral parlors of W.F. Gormley.
