Surnames: Eubanks
I posted this elsewhere earlier in answer to another query; that query was posted over a year ago, and I felt that this being my 1st time on this Eubanks message board, that I would give information about our Eubanks family where it will be seen by many others.

Bob Eubanks, of TV fame, was of the Eubanks Family of Arkansas. The Eubanks family in the late 1700s was in NC; they left there, and went to South Carolina. "On the 11 day of June 1779. We left Huntington, South Carolina," this is a list of 7 names, signed by each person in their own handwriting. There is an Alexander Eubanks, John Eubanks, and a William Eubanks; it also includes a (can't read initial) Browning. "Mattie Eubanks died April 7, 1790". The family later settled in TN, and from there in the early 1800s arrived in Franklin Co., Illinois. My ancestors were two brothers from this family: Dr. James Albert Eubanks, and John Eubanks. Dr. James Albert Eubanks, went to Madison Co., Arkansas in the mid to late 1840s, where he and part of his family are found in the 1850 census. This is the family from which Bob Eubanks descends.

The other part of Dr. James' family remained in Franklin Co., IL where many still reside. Dr. James Albert and John Eubanks' father was William H. Eubanks, who we believe was a son of Alexander "Alex" Eubanks, but we have no proof. Have you ever heard of, or have any information about Alexander Eubanks, John Eubanks, or William Eubanks of the above record which I cited? I would appreciate any help you can give.

The Eubanks family of Arkansas published a book "Eubanks Family Lineage" in 1969 on the Arkansas branch; in 1970 they published it once again, but had researched the Franklin Co., IL branch, and the latter half of the book brings the two families together.

Anyone with additional information about these two branches of the Eubanks family, that will add to the information in this book, please contact me, and send me what new information which you have, so that I can update my copy of the book. There is no index to this book, but I will try to help anyone who believes their Eubanks are related to these families.
