SM asked about and said: "My G G grandfather is George Etsell, siblings as Henry b. 1869, Helen b.1870, Caroline b. 1872, then George 1874 d, 1936. On his death cert. his parents are listed as George Etsell & Mary Ann Squire. However I am to pick up George & Millie King marriage cert. very soon.

I have yet to find confirmation of George Etsell parents. I believe I saw a paper some where that said that George Etsell was raised by his Uncle George. Does anyone know of this as fact? This past year I received another persons unverified research. It has George Etsell b. 1874 as the son of Thomas Etsell & Susannah Squire. Is this true?

This research I spoke of I need confirmation of sources.
Please Help me. We could perhaps meet. I live in the Boston area."

Clement was my great uncle (brother of Elise Rolls Etsell) he was a nice man -lived in Waterbury Ct and was married to Edith
Also met Great Aunt Beryl a few times when she visited my Aunt Elsiein Melrose, MA (my Mom was Edna Etsell MacDonald and we lived next door to my Aunt Elsie and my grandfather Joseph Etsell in Melrose Ma -Guess that would make us cousins? Would love to know more.

Good Day, My grandmother was Gertrude Rolls of Bonavista born March 30, 1891. She had a sister Beryl and Elsie Rolls. My father has told me that his Aunt Elsie and perhaps two other sisters (including my grandmother)moved to Boston which is where my grandmother met her husband Richard Mercer and they moved back to Mercer's Cove, Newfoundland. Does any of this sound familliar?

As I am helping a decendant of George Etsell out, which is your cousin. So it appears that Joseph & George are brothers. Do you still live in Massachusetts? My friend does. Can you tell me what you know of Joseph & George's mom & dad, thier parents, Grandparents and back in the generations.

Do you know when the Etsell's first arrived in Newfoundland? Where they from England? Do you know of other decendants living in New England?

Finally have you posted a tree on here? If so can I view it?

My Great Grandfather was Joseph Etsell(1883-1967). He emigrated from Bonavista to Massachusetts in 1902 and settled in Everett, then moved to Melrose in the Boston suburbs. His wife was Elsie Rolls(1884-1948) who was also from Bonavista.

Great to hear from you. I am researching George Etsell, m. Mary Squires,who was the father of George Etsell born 1874 in Newfoundland. He married Mildread King also of Newfoundland. In the USA census of 1920 the date of arrival is 1890. George died in 1936 in Saugus, Massachusetts.

Yesterday I found some schedules for Bonavista Newfoundland. I found the info at: NEWFOUNDLAND'S GRAND BANKS Genealogical & Historical Data

Could it be that only one Etsell went to NF with all his sons? Always possible. Tell me what you think after you check out the info.

Are you still in NF? If not where did you grow up? WHat is the name of your Grandfather Etsell?

My name is also Etsell. I am looking for information on who was the first Etsell in Newfoundland and how they relate to the rest of the family. We grew up believing we were the only Etsells and now that I am more involved in the family history find them all over. My great-grandfather J. Henry Etsell, born in Reading,Berkshire,England in 1832 and came to Canada with his parents in 1834. Henry was married 3 times and I am a descendent from the 2nd marriage of which there were 2 sons and then their mother died when the youngest son was 1 year. Henry remarried and had 7 more children.

I am wondering if one of his father's siblings went to Newfoundland or it was an uncle or someone. Everyone seems to have the same names so it is difficult to track.

All information would be much appreciated.

Calling all Etsell decendants to come bring the New Generation to light. While putting together the past generations.

George Etsell was from Bonavista, Newfoundland. I have a date from the Christ Church which apears to be baptized 25 Aug 1874/79.

I have him married to a Mildred King. There appears to be some connection to Catalina Newfoundland.

Info for George parents are listed as George Etsell & Mary AnnSquires. Mildred King's parents listed as John King & Susanna Whaler/Whalen.

Now back to George & Mildred they had a least one daughter Lillian Etsell.

Come on in and share info etc...
