I recently discovered my Etchen/Etchey ancestors. I believe mine is the "LOST" son, Francis or Frank Etchey who moved to Wayne, Allen Co, IN. He is listed in the 1880 census for Wayne, Allen, IN with a wife, Lavina and children Michal, 14, William, 11, (all born in Ohio) and Clara, 7, Elizabeth, 6, Frank H., 3, and Edward M, 10 months all born in Indiana.

Francis/Frank's daughter, Elizabeth married Charles H. Raquet (also of Ft. Wayne, IN) and both moved to Seattle Washington where they died. Elizabeth (Etchey) Raquet had at least three children; Garland 1900-1969, Alma Juliette, 1902-1984, and Harold.

If you would be willing to share information on this family I would be most grateful. Chasnlin@worldnet.att.net

George N. Etchey was the 4th child of Nicolas and Clarissa Blair Etchey of Defiance, Ohio. They had 6, maybe 7 children ( we suspect a child died between 1860 and 1870). Nicolas remarried in 1879. Any information you have on George's elevn children would be appreciated.

My maternal g-mother was named Minnie Etchie(n) on both her and her husband's death certs. Can find no birth or marriage records. Born 10 Mar 1869/1870 in Findlay, Hancock Co., OH, died 10 Jan 1958 in Maumee, Lucas Co., OH in assisted living. She married Lemuel Bacome and they lived North Baltimore, Wood Co,OH (ear;y marriage) 1900 census where she and Lemuel are buried; later Toledo, Lucas Co., OH, census 1910/20/30.

Their first child was born in 1893 so Lemuel and Minnie would have married around 1890, I assume. Otherwise,I have found nothing else.

I have finally gotten back to looking up the family history. If anyone has any information on my great grandfather George N. Etchey or my great grandmother, Emma Viola Bell I would be very interested in it. They were from Ohio and lived in Defiance until their deaths.
