as the all seem to be derived from the same
lineage.

Pat, I have come across this name in one of
the searches I have done:

American Genealogical-Biographical Index (AGBI)
ETCHISON Elisha lt. 178? Maryland British
invasion of Md,1812-1815.By Will.
MatthewMarine.Baltimore,1913.

Elijah Etchison Illinois 28Dec1863 Priv Union

We have found that the name evolution played
havock with the Etchison name, evolving from
Acheson, Atcherson, Atchison, Atchinson, and into
the 'E' variations. So far we have not found
a pattern, so it may have been mostly mis-spellings
that caused them to evolve, as our GGG Grandfather's
name is spelled about five different ways.

I have tombs of research and will be happy to
share some with you if you will give me your
e-mail address. I did find that the origins
seem to have been PA and then into VA, NC and
south, which is where our ancestors migrated
to, ending up in GA, AR and OK.

When I get back into my information, I will
pass along what I find. What are the related
names and timeframes you are looking for?

Etchieson

In what eras did your James R. Etchieson live?

Our GG Grandfather was Steven W. Etchieson, born
7/26/1830 and died 12/20/1869; married to Retta
Lucinda Whitworth, with children Charlie Etchieson;
James Lafayette Etchieson, our G Grandfather-
B 3/4/1859 and D 10/10/1915; Janie Etchieson
Pentecost; Susan Etchieson Maynard; Meckie
Etchieson Jestis and Cassandra Etchieson
Highnight.

It is apparent that all lineages of the
Etchieson name are related. Our James R.is
listed as Atchison in Walton, GA, prior to
migration of the family to Arkansas about or
after the Civil War.

Please e-mail me @jmmfn1@GTE.NET.

Am also researching this family. I have an A. D. Etchason and wife M. E. buried in Barry Co., MO. He was born and died 1858-1901. She 1861-1942. Don't know if they are related, but have a ggrandmother Blanche Elaine Etchason married to Albert Ross Turner in 1913 also in Barry Co., MO. Could there be any connection with your line? If so, please contact me. Thanks.

Hi,

My grandfather's lastname is Etchason. His father was Henry (spelling) Etchason who married a Viola White. Does this match any of yours?

Thank you,

We think that all these lines are from the same origin. Where did your family originate in No. America?

I am looking for a Randell, or Randal Atcherson or etc...he lived in Oklahoma City. I believed he died around 1978 of stomach cancer, leaving a wife and two children. The children's ages maybe in their 20's.
