Eugene Ray Estes Jr. NORFOLK - Eugene Ray Estes Jr., 84, of the 7700 block of Armfield Ave., passed away Friday, June 19, 2009. Eugene was a Salvation Army volunteer, U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a former employee of Value Fair. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Rae Estes; two daughters, Frances Irene of Raleigh, N.C., and Barbara Ann Taylor of St. Charles, Mo.; two sons, Eugene Ray Estes III of O'Fallon, Mo., and Don Stewart Estes of St. Charles; a sister, Frances Roughton of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Lloyd Estes of Norfolk; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at the Salvation Army, 6515 Raby Road, Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Capt. Michael Goode officiating. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel.
