My grandfather, Thomas Patrick Esmond, was born 12/1/1880 in New York. He was Catholic. His parents were both born in Ireland, but I do not know their names.(Do you?) He married Anna'Marie' R.(?I think that she was born in Colorado.) Anna Marie R Esmond's parents were both born in Austria (according to 1920 Arizona Census). Thomas Patrick and Marie had a daughter, Eileen W.Esmond, born 8/2/1915 in NY. They lived in Jerome,AZ by 1917.
Thomas Patrick Esmond divorced Marie Esmond;and, married Katherine Lucille Jackson in Mexia,Limestone County, Tx. Lucille called him Frank because a fortune teller told her that she would marry a man named Frank. From then on Thomas Patrick Esmond was referred to as Frank Esmond. They had a daughter, Patricia Lucille Esmond born 1/16/1926. They divorced when Patricia Esmond was young. Thomas Patrick 'Frank' Esmond died 6/7/1938 in Houston, TX.
His first daughter, Eileen W.Esmond (Ayers) had her own ministry at age 16 and passed away at age 95 on 9/2/2010 in or near Lubbock, TX. She had at least 2 children; Richard Ayers and Lonnie Ayers. (She may have had Milan Stansbury and Geraldine Sharp; or they were her step-children.?)
Thomas Patrick Esmond's second daughter was Patricia Lucille Esmond. The two daughters of Thomas Patrick never met; although Patricia searched for her half sister until her last days. When I saw my half-aunt Eileen's picture, I was shocked by their resemblance to each other. Patricia L. Esmond married Robert 'Jean' Osborne in San Antonio, TX on 9/6/1946. They had 2 daughters; Patricia 'Lynn' Osborne July 22, 1951 and Maura Ellen Osborne 5/22/1955.
Patricia Esmond Osborne became an integral part of the National Historic Preservation movement; and,she was personally declared a National Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior in 1992. Patricia Esmond Osborne passed away Dec 14, 1998 in her beloved San Antonio, TX.
I am Maura Osborne, Thomas Patrick Esmond's grandaughter. In 2013 I am 58, and, he would be 133 years of age.
I would love to know more about the Esmond's before him. I am researching more and will edit this information when I can. Esmond is an Old English personal name composed of the element, East for 'grace' and 'beauty' + mund for 'protection.' Love to all of my Esmond relations!
