I don't know if anyone is monitoring this thread any more, but I'm writing just in case. Eskes is my married name. My husband Robert (Bob) came from San Francisco, CA; but his father Richard (Dick) came from Everett, WA. Bob's grandparents came from the Netherlands.
Bob has a brother Ronald in Phoenix, AZ; and a sister Catherine still in the San Francisco area. I don't know if they're interested in their family geneology. But it was interesting to note that there's a Ronald Eskes in the Netherlands, and I wonder if they're related.
I'm not sure what part of the Netherlands Bob's grandparents came from, but I seem to recall that the town started with E. Interesting note: We had a German exchange student who was partly of Dutch blood; and he and Bob looked so alike, people thot he was our son. He lives in Aachen, near the corner where Germany, Belgium, and Holland all meet. So maybe they ARE related somehow!
I have to agree that there aren't many Eskes families in the US. We live in Rochester, NY. But with no kids, the NY line will likely die with us. (Hopefully not for many years, however; we're in our early 50's.)
