Hi,
I’ve seen your mail and a oldest one speaking about Marseille. My name is Lucas ESKENAZI. I’m French, from Paris. My grand father was Albert ESKENAZI (1920-1959). His father was Michel ESKENAZI, born in 1893 at Salonique. He was the son of Behor ESKENAZI (? - ?) and Suzanne LEVY (?-?).
Michel ESKENAZI ‘s wife was Victoria FUNES spouse ESKENAZI, born in 1896 at Salonique. Daughter of Behor FUNES (?-?) and Clara LEVY (?-?).
After their union (about 1913-1914), Michel and Victoria ESKENAZI went to Cuba (1914-1917), Mexico (1918-1919) and Vera Cruz (1920-1922). They had three children in this area. In 1924, they came to Marseille were they have been received by the LEVY family who was implanted into Marseille I believe (family tradition). Their last daughter was born at Marseille. Victoria ESKENAZI had a sister called “Meriam” (“Marie” in french) who married Raphaël HABIB (born in 1888 at Gallipoli) in Marseille in 1916. They had three children (Joseph, Fortunée and Claire, futur spouse PERETZ).
Between 1924 and 1927, Michel and Victoria ESKENAZI came to Paris were they stayed definitively until the second world war (I think they have been received by the FUNES family when they just arrived from Marseille because the FUNES was on Paris since more time).
Michel, Victoria and two of their children died at Auschwitz in june 1944. My father, born in 1958 and me are the last ESKENAZI in France from this “wing”.
Have you got any information about all this person ? I’m also amateur genealogist .
