Hi, I'm Linda Jean Scott Masters My daddy was Conrad Corneilous Scott Son of Conrad Colby Scott & Rebecca Esher (Scott). This made Matthew Parker Esher Jr my great grandpa and Lillian being the second wife. My questions are 1)what was Lillian's maiden name? I found that her dad was from Ireland and her mom from Delawre. I found another Rebecca dob 1886-7,dod 2 Oct 1914 Holmes,Pa If this is my true great grandma Esher,does anyone know what her maiden name was. I have a tree under Scott Family Tree. Please feel free to contribute any infor that will help me learn about my family. Thank you

Jacob Esher's niece Margaret C.(nee Esher) married Edwin Holman Delk. They had a son Rev. Edwin Heyl Delk who married Ella Buehler and their son Edward Buehler Delk became a famous architect - see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Buehler_Delk

Edgar Esher Huff jr. born 1908 PA to Edgar Esher Huff Sr. (dob 1880 PA) and Lillian Margaret McCormick (dob 1892 and 1879 PA) in later yrs. she shaved some yrs off her age. They had 3 children on the 1930 census Edgar E. dob 1908/ Jean dob 1909/ Parker Shortridge Ist dob Nov. 11 1911. All born in PA. On that census the resided at 539 Chesnut st. Philidelphia. My Great-Grandfather was Edgar Esher Huff Sr. My Grandfather was his son Parker Shortridge Huff I. My father was his only child Parker Shortridge Huff II. My father Parker had 3 children, me (Eric),Heather,Parker S. III. I would love to hear from you Libby (Huff) Dreisbach. My father shared very little information with us before he passed. My wife and I are currently trying to find out any info. about the family that we can to pass on to our children. Any idea if the surname has always been Huff or was it changed when they immigrated?

My Great Grandmother was Augusta Rothoff (b:May 25, 1862), she immigrated to the United States with her sister Anna in 1884. Could this possibly be the same Augusta and Anna you mentioned in your message?
I haven't been able to find much information on the Rothoff side of the family. If there is connection here, I would appreciate any information that you may have.

I am desc, from George ESHER and Sarah Shuster through their daughter Louisa Georgetta ESHER married to Joseph John Edwards who lived at 509 Chestnut St. In Norfolk, VA. I grew up in that house. In fact I just scanned a photo of them in my computer today!

I have Eshers in my line from Philly. I can only go back as far as an Eliza Esher (1801-1892). My brother, dad, grandfather and ggrandfather are all Robert Esher Hubbs. Sure would like to find out about Eliza's family if anyone has any info.

That's very kind, I appreciate it. I have her down as Eliza, not Elizabeth. Does that make a difference? And if it would help, she was married to a Robert Wood Solly (1794-1866).

Thanks Rich, I was already aware of William, but can't find much about his family. I do have a note in my research that indicates an indenture from William Esher to George Esher (Sept. 29, 1832) but it looks like he might have been William's son (brother to Eliza Esher) and not brother.
I wonder if it's difficult doing research on this name because the spelling has changed?

Hi,

I have traced the Esher/Escher name back to 1730. George Esher is the son of Johann Conrad Escher and Anna Maria Feliticus. Johann was born in Esslingen, Germany. He sailed on the ship, Rhein and arrived in Phila, PA on 9/15/1765. I may have some information on the Shuster's but I am not sure.

I am trying to locate the parents of my 2nd great-grandfather Charles W. Esher born September 1860 in Pennsylvania - died January 5, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pa. Charles W. Esher was married twice: 1) ------ ------; 2) Elizabeth M. Clark. Stories are that my 2nd great-grandfather was an only child. I keep thinking that there were siblings. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the extremely long delay in replying to your e-mail. I have been without a computer since Sept 2001. I have a home computer now. My e-mail is RCLCBrown@aol.com

I do have a lot of information that you may find interesting. I was under the impression for a long time that I was directly related to George Esher. It turns out that I am related to his brother Conrad. Anyway, I will be happy to copy and mail anything that I have that would assist you. It may take a while because I have hundreds of pages of information.

I have been to Germantown. It is about 10 miles north of Center City Phila. Spring Hill is a small town somewhere outside of Phila. The only Chestnut Street that I know is in Center City Phila. It is one block away from City Hall.

hello folks,
am new at this but curious about my father's roots. His name was edgar esher huff and we always wondered where 'esher' came from ! He actually met a man with the exact name in trenton , N.J. about 15 yrs ago. My dad is in Heaven now so can't ask him all those ?'s I am ready to wonder about!
He was born in Germantown, Pa. on N. Gratz St. I believe in 1908. His dad died when he was 9 from internal injuries sustained when 'cranking' someones model T for them. His mother was Lillian Margaret McCormick who I believe had a brother, John. We have a saber marked John Lawerence Huff from the civil war. That is also the name of one of my brothers.
We always wondered about 'esher' and it sounds like it is a 'town' name from England. Please contact me if youhave any info to help us out! Thanx. Libby (Huff) Dreisbach

Hello! My husband is a descendant of George Esher. I have family info that his daughter Rebecca married a Henry Warner.This is my husband's line of the family, his middle name is Warner. I would be interested in anything you have about the Eshers and Schusters. The Warners lived in the Germantown area until the 1940's. Are you familiar with the area? If so, where is Spring Hill? Chesnut Street?
