MAN'S BODY RECOVERED FROM RIVER -- The body of Roy Eshenbaugh, 42, of 148 1/2 Main St., Leechburg, was pulled from the Allegheny River at Freeport yesterday at about 5 p.m. by Raymond Rogers, Freeport, deputy coroner of Armstrong County.
Mr. Eshenbaugh was reported missing last Monday and was last seen in Freeport on Tuesday. The body has been removed to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning, to determine cause of death through an autopsy.
Mr. Eshenbaugh was born in Bagdad on Dec. 13, 1917, a son of Mrs. Elsie Waldenville and the late Louis Eshenbaugh.
He served in the Army and was a railroad trackman on the Conemaugh Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad for 10 years. He was furloughed from his job.
He lived in the Freeport area until June 1959 when he moved to Leechburg.
He was a member of Freeport American Legion Post.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jane Powell Eshenbaugh, and six children: Shirley, twins Roy and Carl; Cindy, Brenda and Elsie, all at home.
His mother, Mrs. Elsie Waldenville of South Buffalo Township; three brothers: Louis of Freeport; Charles, Leechburg; and Russell of Springdale.
Five sisters: Mrs. Louella Cox, Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. Rose Higgins, Tarentum; Mrs. Gladys Miller, Sarver; Mrs. Grace Johns, South Buffalo Township, and Mrs. Ruth Powell, Leechburg.
Graveside services and burial will be in Brookland Cemetery, Allegheny Township, tomorrow at 11 a.m. Walters-Fullerton Funeral Home, Freeport, is in charge of arrangements.
