NEW WATERFORD, Ohio – Meryl Thelma Esenwein, 73, departed this life, on Oct. 31, 2014.
She was born Oct. 23, 1941, a daughter of the late Merrill Thomas and Bertha (Snyder) Esenwein.
She was the granddaughter of Joseph H. Snyder Sr. and Irene Longanecker Snyder and Ed and Minnie Coppock Esenwein.
Meryl was the beloved sister of Dorothy E. Vosloh, of Foley, Alabama, Lavern T. Esenwein of Hickory, N.C., and Paul Esenwein Sr. of Salem, Ohio.
She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Fairfield/Waterford High School (now Crestview) and Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky.
Meryl was a lifetime member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church.
Meryl was a missionary with World Gospel Mission in Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda, Africa, for 38 years. She worked as a teacher, printshop artist, illustrator and enjoyed weaving rugs, painting, crafts and her beautiful garden.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church, 45675 State Route 558, New Waterford, OH 44445.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana, Ohio and also one hour before the services at the church on Wednesday.
