James W. Esenwein of 2025 E. Lincoln, Bloomington, IL, formerly of Albuquerque, died at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at St. Josephs Hospital in Bloomington, IL. Mr. Esenwein was born in Oil City, PA, November 17, 1901, the son of William and Della (Bannon) Esenwein. He married Eleanor Larsen on July 3, 1931. She survives. Mr. Esenwein was a gradaute of Pennsylvania State University and a member of Sigma Phi Sigma. He was a Mason. For many years he worked for the Forest Service in Arizona and New Mexico. In a midlife career change, Mr. Esenwein bought the National Vertilated Awning Co. in Albuquerque and ran his business for 15 years. He then"retired" and he and his brother, Irvin, bought and manged rental properties in Albuquerque for a time. In April 1994, Mr. and Mrs. Esenwein left Albuquerque, their home of 58 years, and moved to Westminster Village in Bloomington, to be closer to their son, Carl, who lives in Normal. Survivors include his son, Carl (Willemina); three grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending.
