Appreciated all information. Which one of Jacob Esau's sons was your father? I remember all the children except Jacob 11. He apparently had left home before I could remember. I corresponded with Jacob's son John during WW11. Was he your brother? Paul(Bud) let me know when he was killed. Do you know when the Kroeker family came to NE? I know it was before 1883, as that's when my mother was born and she was born in NE.

Hi Eva, Paul was my father. He died in 1958 from complications of an ulcer operation. Jacob( the one who died in WWII was my cousin. He has 2 sisters and a brother still alive. Two of them live in FL where I live and one lives in PA. I got to meet Dale last June. When he retired he came to FL. It was wonderful to finally meet a cousin on my father's side. Bert has two children who live in WA. He was my father's younger brother. Are you from Uncle Pete's family? I keep in contact with Richard Esau. He is in CA and is Uncle Jack and Aunt Elma's son. They are the ones who lived in WY.

Hi again Eva, I forgot to tell you what I have on the KROEKERS. My grandmother was Helena. Her parents Jacob Kroeker and Anna Worms/Wurms came to the US in 1876 They left Antwerp Belgium aboard the ship Vanderland and arrived Philadelphia 7/28/1876 The two older children Agatha and Jacob were born in South Russia, but the others were born in the US.I have a copy of the naturalization papers greatgranddad Kroeker filled out but he never (to my knowledge) went through with the paperwork to became a citizen. I have a copy of Anna Wurms death certificate. She is buried in the College View, NE Cemetery. Dale and I are working to find additional information I was given a copy of Anna Kroekers Suderman's daughter Anna's memoirs. She and her sister Elizabeth were Mennonite missionaries. Elizabeth was in Africa and Anna in India. The Kroekers were from the Molotschna Colony in South Russia. That is now in the Ukraine. I also have the genealogical paperwork on the Dahlkes. Anna Dahlke was the wife of greatgranddad Jacob Esau. They lived first in Hampton, Hamilton Co.,NE and then College View . The older children were born there including my father. The younger ones were born on the farm in Petersburg.

Hi Marge, I am your Uncle Pete's youngest daughter and Dale's aunt. Your father used to come visit us. The last time I saw him I was about 16 years old.We were double cousins.
Richard and Helen were in Petersburg in Sept. and I got to go down to see them. When I was 9 years old, my parents, Brother Bob and I visited them in WY. The last time saw Uncle Jack and Aunt Elma was in 1950. They came for my parents 50th wedding anniversary.
Anna Suderman came to Nebraska in the 50s, looking up relatives. I got to meet her and took her for an airplane ride. I am a pilot. I found a school census from the village of Alexanderwhol from 1883-84. There was a Jacob Esau enrolled, father's name Jacob and he was 7 years old, must be your grandfather.

Hi Marge, Thank for Dale's address. I was a school counseler for 12 years, so naturally used computers. I still testing for my former district for special, and use the computer for that. Do you know anything about the Kennedys? I used to correspond with Lillie, but she just stopped writing. I am assuming she is no longer living. I went up to visit them in Montana, about in 1946.
We visited Cornelious (Chris) When they lived at Genoa, NE.I remember he raised bees. Where did you find the naturalization records. I know my dad became a citizen. Mother said some of the Germans mistakenly thought they just had to file that one letter of intent and they would automaticall be citizens. My dad realized after WW1 started that he wasn't a citizen. He then filed the second pappers and was sworn in. This had to have taken place in Albion, Boone Co. Would you like some pics of my parents? I have a few from when they were young and would copy them for you.

Jeanette(who I was close to) died in the early 90's.Maxine is still in Plains, MT but seems not to want anything to do with the family.Uncle Herb died in the late 70's early 80's. Aunt Lillie was in a nursing home her last 3 or 4 years. I taught Mentally Retarded and Learning Disabled for 34 years. Retired 5 years ago. My husband has 2 years to go.
