Hello my name is nancy I am a descendent of james and rebecca ervin parents of William Ervin father of Robert houston Ervin which was the father of my grandmother Reese Ervin. One thing I have confussing is on the tombstone it reads R.H Ervin and Dorcas Ervin but last year when my father passed I discovered that on his birth certificate it has his mother listed as Reese Irvin.

Hi--James L. & Margaret Ervin are buried in Greenwood Cemetery, just outside Gonzales, TX. I knew Uncle Dave's middle name was Ervin, but I hadn't noticed any other, but let me know of any others. Peggy S. Pate

Do you have any idea where James Lawson Ervin Jr. and Margaret "Elmer" Ervin are buried. I'm sure it must be in Gonzales County, Texas but I have yet to locate where.

P.S. I notice that everyone I am researching on this side you also have in your tree. My grandfather and g-grandfather
have Ervin as their middle names, last names are Smith.

Hello and I am Cynthia Ervin granddaughter of Harry Glenn Ervin born 1907 West Virginia. Vivian Inez Malone was my grandmother. Harry and Vivian had two children which the youngest is still living. James Lee Ervin was born on 11 March 1934 and he is my father. He was born in Kansas City, Mo. He had one brother Thom Ervin's father Harry Ervin Junior born 28 Aug. 1931 Drumwright Creek Oklahoma. That is the only two children they ever had. I am one of four siblings belonging to James L. Ervin and Shirley Anita Marcus Ervin. We lived in Kansas City until 1970 and then moved to Colorado. I'm looking for information on Nancy Ervin Gates (who was married to my greatgrandfather James A. Gates) and her mother Elizabeth Ervin. They lived in South Pittsburg, TN around 1900, moved to Holt, AL and then to Rusk, TX. They may have originally come from the bordering states to TN. A family tree, done ~50 years ago and since lost, found that Nancy (and/or) Elizabeth were Cherokee.

Don't know if you all are still out here or not. I believe your Edward Ervin to be a nephew of my g-g-grandmother, Alice Irvin, b. 5 Mar 1840, Ross County OH, d. 5 Jul 1926, Trimble Twp, Athens County OH, m. Geo W. Leffler in 1861. I'd like to compare notes, as I'm stuck on Alice's parents, William Irvin/Ervin & Naoma (possibly Wyskiver according to Alice's death certificate).

...that's a total of 44 gens - not all Ervins (there are about 19 or so of those), but all are Ervin ancestors. I also Have copies of Col. J Ervin (1754) family bible - actual copies of cover and entries with separate 5 pg family history and story of trip across the "deep"... handwritten - not just the text copy.

also, i know they lived in hardeman county in 1930. then in tipton county in 1940. i don't know if you have this info or not.

I have a great great Grandmother Sarah Irwin Irvin Erwin Ervin, many different spellings it seems but her marriage certificate in Knox County TN in 1848 is Sarah Ervin, however her dad is William Irwin B TN 1809 and her Mother is Mary Polly Ann Hines B TN abt 1811

Jonah was also my great great grandfather, and my grandfather was Ronald, he tells that Jonah came into the US from
Alberta, Canada, i believe, by way of Vermont, then into Rosebush, MI.

Hello, I have recently started to research my husband's Ervin side of the family. My husband John Carlson, mother Ina Ervin, grandfather John Ervin(brother to Stanley), and grgrandfather Jonah. ess I will have to give up on any direct evidence of his parentage. Joseph Erwin's will, as translated, did not mention Hezekiah.

Check the various family trees on Ancestry.com. Hezekiah Ervin (born 1775) is my direct ancestor. The name has been traced by others as Irvin and Irvine, Scots who migrated to the U.S. in the early 1700's.

I have not found solid evidence for the ancestry. If you are descended from Lydia Bolin, you may be related to Pocahontas, wife of John Rolfe. You may respond directly to us at pfeff1@att.net.

my great grandfather and his siblings were brought to Rosebush, MI by my great great grandparents... gggrandpa was Jonah, great grandpa was Stanley, and had i believe over 10 siblings.

Could anyone verify parents of Hzekiah Ervin, born 1775 in North Carolina, Married Mary Polly Simmons. Many family trees show parents as Joseph Erwin and Agness Reed, however,
will of Joseph Erwin does not mention Hezekiah but all other children are mentioned. Any help appreciated.

Any info on this person would be greatly appreciated. Especially trying to find info. on his first wife, Fay Ervin, only age 15 in the 1930 Census. Maiden name? Divorced? In 1934 he married my grandmother in law Helen
Lachowitzer. After he divorce Helen he remarried but do not know the name.

I know my grandfather graduated highschool in Fort Wayne but i'm not sure of the year. His name was Ralph and he moved to Toledo. I also know he had some native american roots. I don't have a lot of info on him since he died when my father was only 11. Trying to piece some things together.

I don't know if this will help but there's an Ervin Manufacturing in Tecumsuh, Mi. I'm pretty sure they are not related to my part of the Ervin family but maybe they might be part of yours.

I believe the Charles Lemon Ervin you are writing about is the son of Chas Lemon Ervin (1842-1934). I had not heard about his mattress company but I know they were in the furniture business in El Paso. Thanks for the new information.

Their ancestry goes back to Charles Ervin who came from Ireland in 1784 and settled in Indiana as soon as it opened up for settlers about 1835. Charles Lemon Ervin (1842-1934) was the grandson of this Charles Ervin and the son of James W. Ervin and Lucinda Cummings.

Your Charles Lemon Ervin (1879-1930) would be the great-grandson of the original settler, Charles Ervin, who is buried at Leesburg Cemetery in Kosciusko County, Indiana.

His father, Charles Lemon Ervin (1842-1934), is buried at Rosedale Crematory, in Los Angeles.

I am not sure of my connection to the subject lineage but I suspect it goes back to Hezekiah Ervin from NC. My grandfather, John Ross Ervin, wanted to name his first born, may faher, Hezekiah Ervin back on April 18, 1909 but my grandmother,Buleah Simmons Ervin, prevailed and named him Harry Wilburn Ervin. Two of my uncles are Robert lee Ervin and John Wesley Ervin, twins. My grandmother was a simmions from Johnson County Illinois, near Marion, Il. My father's family grew up between Benton and Commerce, Missouri. I grew up in North Cape Girardeau, Missouri and my brother has a farm near Egypt Mills, Missouri. I have heard of the Ervin cemetary but don't know how to find it. Can you provide more detaild directions and any data as to linage because I always heard that my grandfather, John Ross Ervin, and his siblings were orphans. Charles married a woman by the name of Adela. She ran his mattress company (Ervin Manufacturing Company) for many years after his death in 1930. The mattress company, I am told, was quite successful, and they made the mattress for the tallest man in the world at the time, a resident of El Paso. Charles Ervin is buried at Evergreen Cemetery next to Adela Ervin Kelley in El Paso, Texas

Does anyone have a Tabitha Emma Ervin (married to William W Kerr) who moved to Sanilac County around 1868. Her parents also made the move at some point in time. They were Alfred Ervin and Anna Eliza (Carrol) Ervin.

Alfred and Anna's children (that I know of) are:
Tabitha b 1851
Sarah b 1853
Lodema (?) b 1856
James Henry b 1856
Alfred b 1859

I don't know if any of the children, other than Tabitha, made the trek to Sanilac county or not.

I'm looking for any information or to connect to anyone with Ervin's that moved from Canada to Michigan. My 3x great grandmother was Tabitha Emma Ervin born in Canada in 1851. She married William Kerr around 1867, and they moved to Sanilac Michigan about a year later. Tabitha's parents also moved to Sanilac county. They were Alfred Ervin and Anna Eliza Carrol.

Hoping to find any information on this family. :)

I'd be very grateful for any help you can provide in helping to put together the pieces of the Ervins who lived in NC in the late 1790s. I'm particularly interested in tracing Henry Ervin b 1799 in North Carolina, d 1881 in MS Copiah County (wife Mary "Polly" Nelson). His father was Isaac, I think, but I know nothing else. Would be very grateful for your help.
