Anna Deutsch Erven, age 76, of Fairview,pa,
passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010. She was born in Erie on July 18, 1934, a daughter of the late Charles Martin and Catherine M Lovejoy Deutsch. Anna attended Academy High School and then went on to become a devoted homemaker her whole life. She received her beautician's license from Erie County Vo-Tech in 1972. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and volunteered at Angel House Soup Kitchen in Austin, Texas. Anna loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Erven; a grandson, Robbie Snyder; a brother, Charles Martin Deutsch Jr.; a brother-in-law, William Gibson; and a niece, Barbara Learn. She is survived by five daughters, Betty Lou Snyder Barczyk and her husband, George, of Fairview, Cathy Bailey and her husband, Dennis, of Erie, Robin Scubbuck (James Worth) of Willoughby, Ohio, Linda Schember and her husband, Sam, of Spartanburg, S.C., and Sylvia Frantz and her husband, Howard, of Wesleyville; three sons, Robert "Butch" Snyder and his wife, Valerie, of Fairview, Dale Snyder and his wife, Donna, of Edinboro, and Dan Snyder and his wife, Diane, of Springfield; three step-children, Sandy Battles of San Antonio, Texas, Gary Erven and his wife, Nancy, of McKean, and Don Erven and his wife, Sara, of East Springfield; two brothers, Rev. Frank Deutsch and his wife, Centra, of Austin, Texas, and Ron Deutsch and his wife, Diane, of Edinboro; and a sister, Ruth Gibson of Deland, Fla.; 19 grandchildren, Ron Konkol Jr., Matthew Barczyk, Danny Snyder, Becky Jo Scalise, Doug Baily, Loretta Sulton, Marissa Snyder, Brent Snyder, Jamie Jeffcoat, Keri Schember, Larry Busch, Jessica Anderson, Cory Frantz, Heather Pangborn, Scott Snyder, Ashley Harbough, Amanda Snyder, D.J. Snyder, and Ryan Snyder; and two cousins, Sue Fileger and Sally Corey. 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W 26th Street (at Powell Ave), on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend services there on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend David Fugate from Church of the Cross officiating.
