No, I really have nothing to go on. The only thing I have stumbled upon is the 1870 census for Elizabeth Township, NJ. I was looking at it and noticed that the name right after Hederick in that particular census was Oertel. There is a George listed on that census. There is actually a George, aged 28 and Christiana aged 27. There is then another George, aged 7, as well as a William (4) and Adolph (2). Other than living in the next house, and some memory of Ertles in the family, I have no other link. Both the Hedericks and the Oertels (at least the parents and the oldest son George, were all born in Germany. It makes me think that the name Schnupp is incorrect, and perhaps Elizabeth Hederick is the sister of George Oertel. I also just noticed that the Hederick's on this census have a daughter named Christiana, which is the name of George Oertel's wife.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks
