Carolyn M. Sucato Ericson, 46,
of Summit Township, died Monday, July 4, 2011,
at her residence
She was born August 6, 1964, in Buffalo, N.Y.,
daughter of Salvatore "Sam" and Bertha "Lori" Hugar Sucato. A 1982 graduate of McDowell High School, she was a dental assistant for Dr. James Parenti for ten years. She also worked in the Sales Department of Blair Corp for seven years. Carolyn enjoyed collecting penguins, but the joy of her life was spending time with her children and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Karsh; maternal grandfather, Norbert Hugar; maternal grandmother, Catherine E. Heather; paternal grandparents, Justin and Jennie Sucato; mother-in-law, Beverly C. Buerk Ericson; and sister-in-law, Robin Ericson. In addition to her parents of Erie, survivors include her husband of 16 years, Jay E. Ericson; two daughters, Samantha M. and Alexandra M. Ericson, both at home; sister, Denise A. King, and husband, David, of Erie; brother, Steve D. Sucato, and wife, Sara, of Painesville, Ohio; father-in-law, William E. Ericson of Columbia, N.C.; brother-in-law, Steve Karsh of Erie; seven nieces and nephews, David, Kaila and Jessica King, and Becky, Katie, Jennie and Reed Karsh; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St. A service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 9:15 a.m. followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1553 E. Grandview Blvd., celebrated by the Rev. Raymond W. Hahn. Burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be designated to the family through the funeral home.
