I'm an Ergenbright from Jacob's branch that stayed in Virginia, but I thought someone in one of the branches out west might be interested in this -- there were two U.S. Patents granted to a Charles S. Ergenbright in the early 1900's. The first, U.S. Pat. No. 878,715 issued on Feb. 11, 1908 to a Charles S. Ergenbright of Caney, Kansas, who had invented a hand plow. The second, U.S. Pat. No. 1,176,670 issued on March 21, 1916 to a Charles S. Ergenbright of Arrowrock, Idaho (don't know if they're different people or if Charles moved west, but at any rate...) for an animal trap.
