WEST MIDDLESEX, PA. - David Scott Erb, 76, of Hubbard Road, died Sunday morning, Aug. 31, 2014, at his residence at 2 a.m.
Mr. Erb was born in Sharon, Pa., Oct. 14, 1937, to the late Maynard and Sarah Jane Edeburn Erb.
He married Sandra L. Young on July 15, 1961.
He retired from Sharon Steel and served his country in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Germany four years.
David was a member of the West Middlesex United Methodist Church.
He was the youngest member to serve on council of Government for Shenango Valley.
He was a former member of the West Middlesex and Shenango Township Fire Departments.
He formerly served on the West Middlesex Council and coached little league.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy of the residence; three sons, Gregory Erb and wife Mary Kay of Canfield, Ohio and Andrew Erb and wife Diana and Jason Erb, all of West Middlesex; six grandchildren also survive; two brothers, John Erb of Lady Lake, Fla., and Rev. James Erb of New Wilmington, Pa.; five sisters, Helen Richardson of West Middlesex, Mary Stafford of Farrell, Pa., Sara May Miller of Mercer, Pa., Esther Sanderbeck of West Middlesex, and Julie Moore of Akron, Ohio; and a brother-in-law, Edward Taylor of Muncie, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Erb and a sister, Martha Taylor.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 3126 Main St. West Middlesex.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, from 4 until 7 p.m. The Rev. Wade Barto will officiate the service.
Interment will follow at Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex. - See more at:
