Epworth as a Middle Name, 1800s NJ

Classification: Query
Surnames: BROWN, LYNN
My great-greatgrandfather was Edward Epworth BROWN, b 1837 NJ, d 1912 Jersey City, Hudson Co. NJ. Edward's death certificate lists his father as Samuel E. BROWN, his mother as unknown.

Edward named one of his sons, my greatgrandfather, John Epworth BROWN, b 1858 Brooklyn, Kings Co. NY, d 1888 Jersey City.

Edward Epworth Brown's daughter, Adelia BROWN (b abt. 1859 Brooklyn, d bef. 1895), married William LYNN (b abt. 1856 NJ, d 1891 Jersey City) in 1878. They named their son Edward Epworth LYNN, b 1879 Jersey City, d 1933 East Orange, Essex Co. NJ.

I'm curious about Epworth being used as a middle name in these three instances that I know of, and wonder whether Samuel E. Brown might have married an Epworth lady.--Sandy Brown
