Rosina was my great-grandmother. She died when I was 11 years old. She did not speak English and she was blind, so difficult to communicate with. She lived with her daughter Helen when she died. Helen was my grandfather George's youngest sister. Anyway, Helen told me only a few years ago that the reason Rosina spoke German is because she was raised in a German orphanage in Manhattan. Helen did not know what happened to Rosina's parents. Helen passed away about 2 years ago.
