" John S. Epp--Switzerland to Milwaukee
... A son Joseph was born Switzerland 16 July 1859 ... emigrated to New York in March, 1885, accompanied by Joseph and his wife Josephina, nee Geisler, and their first two children, Joseph, Jr. (1881), and Mary (1884)."

There's a mysterious entry in local German papers for a missing person. This is indexed as:
21 April 1887 - Epp, Joseph daughter of - 3 yr; missing
These kinds of clippings are brief and a call-out to the community. Sometimes they are speacial notices purchased by the family, and sometimes a brief article. The results of these searches are sometimes published, depending on the outcome. I include them in the index of these papers because I know they can help solve research mysteries.
