Peter Ensele's wife's name was Amelia (or Amalia) Siebert. That much we know for sure but how was it spelled?
Her tombstone reads Amalia and you'd think her family wouldn't make a mistake. Census info. is all over the place:
1900 Amelia Ensele
1910 Amilie Ensell
1920 Amelia Ensely
The passenger list for the S.S. Rotterdam says her name is Amelia Ensele but it could possibly read Amalia Ensele. I can not find anything about her naturalization on Ancestry.com.
Does anyone out there have her Bible with the correct notation? Or any explanation whatsoever?
There are a lot of Amelia's in the Ensele family and not one Amalia which leads me to believe that her "real" name was Amelia. Judi
