My gr great grandfather John Enright (some sources have his middle initial E but grave states John W. Enright) was born 1814, unsure where in Ireland, but family says Limerick or Cork. He emigrated to the US between 1836 and 1844. By 1844 he was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he married his German immigrant wife, Margaret Rose Frings on 7 Oct 1844. By 1850, the Enrights are in Highland, Iowa Co., WI. By 1870 they were in Austin, Mower Co., Minnesota where John stayed until his death 30 Sep 1891. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Austin, MN.
Per family history (a letter from a gr great uncle) he had a brother Richard who emigrated to US whom the family had lost touch with, but I've never found a record of him. He had a brother William, also referred to in that letter. It states William had lived in the St. Louis, MO area and that family had lost touch with him. I find a William born 1819 and died 1884 living (and died/buried) in Franklin County, MO. He also had a well-documented sister Bridget Ahern Enright, born 1810 and married Michael O'Brien in the Milwaukee, WI area; died 1894.
Additionally, there is a Thomas Enright born 1810 (Bridget's twin? or "Irish twins"?) who lived near their Trehy cousins in the area (WI) and died 1883.
To confuse matters, I have found an Enright family in Crawford County, Iowa who has all the same names as "my" Enrights but a generation or two younger. Father Patrick Enright born 1858, mother Bridget O'Brien b. 1856. In the 1880 census, children are listed as Richard, John, Margaret, Mary, James and Cornelius.
I hope you are still involved in all these Enrights! I look forward to pooling info.
