I am looking for the Ennis family in Philadelphia in the mid-1800s. My gg-grandfather, Samuel Ennis was born there in about 1849. He eventually married Mary Matthews in Delaware and settled there for some time before returning to Philadelphia. I have found him in the 1900 census and a city directory for 1910 but nothing after that. In looking backward for him I found a likely Samuel in the 1860 and 1870 census' as a son of Richard and Elmira. I'm not sure if that's him. If anyone knows this family and can share some information I would appreciate it.
