Tiek is definitely a German name. The original spelling may have been Tieck. The, "ck," and, "k," sound very much a like in the German language. I have heard some conjecture the,"ck," may have been dropped because they sound so much a like, especially after migrating to America. There was a German romantic writer or poet named Wilhem Tieck in the late 1800's in Germany. You may want to research that name too. Also, just to let you know the,"ie," in German is pronounced like an English, "ee." The German,"ei," is pronounced like an English,"i." The name,"Tiek," is correctly pronounced, "Teek."
