Would like to correspond with someone who has done research on the above family. My interest in particular is with the first wife Catherine AVERY and not Isabella BREWIS.
My descendant is Edward WELCH who married Ann ENGLISH, and their daughter Anne WELCH.
Anne, and her brother Thomas and family, went to Australia in 1852. I am interested in their lives in England.
I keep coming up against a brick wall as the names WELCH, WELSH and WALSH all seem to be intertwined and I am not sure whether I have the correct family or not sometimes. I know their name was definitely WELCH. Were there Welshes and Walshes in the Warkworth, Alnwick and Shilbottle areas or is it the WELCH family with several spellings?
Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org are not very helpful with this area. The FreeBMD site is difficult with marriages and deaths because no family members are listed.
I would appreciate any assistance with this please.
Thanks
