MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio - Margaret Jean (English) Watkins, 81, passed away at her home on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1933, in Sinnamahoning, Pa., to the late Milo and Nora (Pitts) English.
Margaret attended Niles McKinley High School, Niles, Ohio and was the editor of the school newspaper, The High Crier.
She went on to graduate from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio with a Bachelor’s Degree, and then taught Math at Penn-OH College in Youngstown.
She also spent a lot of time substitute teaching.
Margaret enjoyed attending her class reunions.
She constantly stayed busy with sewing, gardening, cooking, reading and doing many other tasks. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to mourn Margaret’s passing is her loving husband of 62 years, Richard W. Watkins, who she married on Sept. 10, 1952.
She also leaves behind her children, David (Coralie) Watkins of South Carolina, Susan (David) Claypool of Niles, Linda (Charles) Mooney of McDonald, and William “Bill” (Laurie) Watkins of Florida; her grandchildren, Cary Rusk, Matthew and Brad Claypool, Charles C., Ashley, and Tyler Mooney, and Christina and Jessica Watkins; nine great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Watkins.
Preceding Margaret in death were her parents; her son, Richard W. Watkins Jr.; and her sister, Clelia Crawford.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
