Good Evening! I have a great-great Uncle Mike who was a pharmacist and lived in the Utica, NY area. I have been trying to research the Emma side of my family...a difficult project, to be sure. My father, Leonard V. Emma, lived in Rochester, NY. His father was Michael J. Emma. and I believe he was named for his Uncle Mike (mentioned above). I would appreciate any information you have. I know the Emma name was not the original name. I don't know if it was originally Iemma or Auriemma. I think they MIGHT have been from Napoli, but they could have been from anywhere in the Rome area of Italy, too. See, I know nothing! My father died in 1958, leaving me with many gaps in my genealogy. I do know that my brother, Ray spoke with David Emma the Olympic Hockey player once, and they figured out they were related. If I am rambling, I apologize. I really am just so excited to find ANY information about the family. Looking forward to communicating with you, Kathy Emma Potter
